Washington Elementary School District is seeking a Temporary Speech-Language Pathologist to support the Search to Serve Summer program in Glendale, AZ. Immediate start and collaboration with Special Services to evaluate students, determine eligibility, and develop individualized education plans.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, review data, coordinate with families, and provide home programs to reinforce therapy goals.

Qualifications

  • Hold a valid Arizona teaching certificate (AZ IVP FPCC).
  • Speech-Language Pathologist Pre-12 certification.
  • Speech-Language Technician Pre-12 certification.
  • Arizona Department of Health Services Licence.
  • Obtain and maintain a valid AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Responsibilities

  • Performs tests and measurements to determine eligibility and goals.
  • Participates in evaluation and IEP meetings with team members and parents.
  • Develops IEPs for children with identified disabilities with team and parents.

Temporary Speech-Language Pathologist - Search to Serve SummerLocation:Search to Serve


Accountable To: Special Services


CLASS SUMMARY: Participate in Child Find evaluations and AzEIP referrals throughout the summer by collaborating with team members in assessment activities and eligibility for students with suspected disabilities. Team members will review existing data, evaluation information, discuss eligibility, identify area(s) of need for specialized instruction, including related services and develop individual education plan to fit the needs of the child.


Essential Duties:



  • Performs tests and measurements in evaluating students in order to determine eligibility status, establish performance baselines, set new goals, determine disabilities or special needs and to give referrals to other agencies. Reviews student’s medical records to aid in evaluating status and needs. Interprets findings and reports to parents.

  • Participates in evaluation and individual education program meetings with evaluation team members and parents

  • Develops individual education program for children with identified disabilities based on evaluation in conjunction with evaluation team members and parents.

  • Consults with physicians and other health professionals in order to obtain additional information and to make recommendations and referrals to other agencies.

  • Provides students and families with home programs to enhance carry-over of therapeutic objectives.


Appropriate Certification Requirements



  • Hold a valid Arizona teaching certificate(A.R.S § 15-502.B)-Intern, Provisional, Reciprocal or Standard-

  • Speech-Language Pathologist Pre-12, OR

  • Speech-Language Technician Pre-12, AND

  • Arizona Department of Health Services Licence, AND

  • Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC).
