Reading Public Schools is hiring a Long-Term Substitute Special Education Paraeducator at Coolidge Middle School in Reading, MA. The role runs November 2026 through March 2027, for 60 hours biweekly, starting immediately.

Work under SPED teachers to support students with disabilities and help implement IEPs. Responsibilities include academic and behavioral support, collaboration with teachers and therapists, fostering a safe, inclusive classroom, and data collection for progress.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with students with disabilities preferred.
• CPR/First Aid trainings preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Assist special education teachers, general education teachers, and other certified specialists in accommodating/modifying lessons and implementing IEPs.
• Provide academic and behavioral support to students inside and outside the classroom.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, nurses, and other professionals to create a safe learning environment.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere and support social-emotional growth.
• Supervise and assist students with daily tasks including mobility, transitions, hygiene, self-care, self-regulation, and communication.
• Model appropriate behavior for students.
• Maintain accurate data to track student progress and communicate with the team.
