Chicago Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Teacher to provide instructional planning, deliver standards-based lessons, and support student progress at the assigned school. Under the supervision of the principal, you will implement diverse teaching methods and maintain accurate records.

The role requires completion of student teaching and state teaching certification (PEL or ELS). Strong communication with parents and collaboration with staff are essential, along with upholding CPS discipline

Qualifications

• Successful completion of student teaching requirements and all course work required to obtain the appropriate teaching certificate(s).
• Licensure: Professional Educator License (PEL) or Educator License with Stipulations (ELS) issued by the Illinois State Board of Education.

Responsibilities

• Plan instructional lessons and develop written lesson plans aligned to instructional objectives.
• Evaluate pupil progress and maintain current and accurate records of achievements.
• Apply diverse teaching techniques and materials to reflect curriculum content and student needs.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about academic progress, attendance, and conduct.
• Participate in in-service meetings and professional staff activities; may coordinate field trips and after-school activities.
