The Opportunity:

Hudbay Minerals Inc. is seeking a Temporary Site Services Equipment Operator at our Copper Mountain Mine in Princeton, BC. This position is a 7x7, 12-hour shift; Day shift schedule.

Please note that this opportunity is NOT a fly-in-fly-out position.

Temporary Site Services Equipment Operator

Location

Copper Mountain Mine is located near the town of Princeton, British Columbia at the center of the scenic Similkameen Valley. Princeton is a community-oriented town with a diverse offering of activities, especially for those who love the outdoors. Princeton is also in close proximity to both the city of Vancouver and the Okanagan.

Summary

Reporting to the Site Services Supervisor, the Site Services Equipment Operator is responsible for full oversight of operating heavy-duty equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and graders to excavate, move, load, and grade earth, rock, gravel, and other materials during construction and related activities. This position also assists the Site Services team with other activities such as carpentry, pump maintenance, plumbing, and HVAC assistance .

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy-duty equipment, such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and graders in accordance with the mine procedures and standards,
• Performs daily pre- and post-trip equipment inspections and reports any needed repairs on broken or improperly working equipment,
• Conducts all activities safely and following all Copper Mountain Mine safety requirements and SOPs,
• Performs other responsibilities related to the Site Services Equipment Operator role as required or as assigned by the Site Services Supervisor or Mill Maintenance Senior Supervisor .

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED),
• Must be signed off on excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and graders,
• Possesses a valid Class 5/7N driver’s license and has access to personal transportation .

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills,
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision,
• Possess a solid understanding of maximizing production while minimizing contamination,
• Able to learn from others and adopt best practices while maintaining a strong focus on safety, integrity, and reliability,
• Ability to learn, be trained, and follow instructions and standard operating procedures,
• Must be clean shaven .

Salary Range

$45.04/ Hour
