Job summary

CAPITOL REGION EDUCATION COUNCIL (CREC) seeks a Physical Therapist for a temporary position at the River Street Autism Program in Bloomfield, CT. The PT will assess, plan, and collaborate on IEP goals for students across assigned sites, delivering educationally relevant therapy services and communicating with educators, parents, and staff.

Strong organizational skills, independence, and collaboration with other professionals are needed to support student participation and learning.

Qualifications

• Completed an accredited physical therapy program recognized by APTA and passed the NPTE.
• Two years of physical therapy experience, preferably in school or pediatric settings.
• Requires current Connecticut license by the Department of Public Health.
• Maintains knowledge of school-based practice and relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

• Screen, evaluate, set measurable goals, and implement educationally relevant interventions.
• Evaluate students' physical therapy needs using appropriate tests and observations.
• Interpret findings and communicate with educators, parents, and other staff.
• Document all therapy services, progress notes, IEPs, trainings, and Medicaid billing as required.
• Maintain time records for billing and inventory of therapy equipment.
