Qualifications

Position Summary: At Life Link III, our Rotor Wing Pilots are guided by a commitment to safety, excellence, and integrity. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring every mission is executed with precision and professionalism.

This is a temporary role designed to ensure continuity and support within theRhinelander Base.While this is a temporary assignment, the selected pilot will be fully eligible to apply for internal transfers and other permanent opportunities within the organization as they become available, positioning this role as a strong potential pathway to long-term career growth. The ideal candidate will demonstrate adaptability, leadership, and a commitment to excellence during this transitional period.


As a Rotor Wing Pilot, you will:

  • Ensure aircraft readiness and assess weather conditions to guarantee safe, efficient transport of medical crews and patients to hospitals within the operational area
  • Uphold strict compliance with Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), and General Operations Manual (GOM) guidelines
  • Be a key contributor to mission success, collaborating with a team of medical professionals who rely on your expertise to safely transport critically ill patients
Position Highlights:
  • Holds final authority for the safety of passengers, cargo, and medical personnel with secondary operational control for all flights they initiate or accept
  • Conducts thorough pre-flight inspections to ensure readiness and compliance.
  • Executes all flight operations in full compliance with CFRs, the aircraft Flight Manual, General Operations Manual, Operations Specifications
  • Ensures accurate and complete documentation for all flight activities
  • Fosters a positive and professional attitude in interactions with team members and customers
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform detailed flight planning and conduct weather checks with minimal notice
  • Oversees all critical flight information, including NOTAMs, TFRs, and weather updates
  • Maintains all required qualifications and certifications as outlined in the CFRs
  • Supervises the loading of passengers, baggage, and fuel, ensuring compliance with the weight and balance limitations specified in the aircraft flight manual for both Part 91 and Part 135 operations
  • Performs other duties as assigned
What We Are Looking For:
  • Commercial pilot certificate & Instrument Rating for category and class of aircraft. (ATP in category meets this requirement)
  • First or Second-Class FAA Medical Certificate
  • 2000 hours total flight time
  • 1500 hours flight hours in category
  • 1000 hours PIC in category
  • 500 hours of rotorcraft turbine time
  • 200 hours of cross country
  • 100 hours of unaided night
  • 50 hours of unaided night can be accepted with a minimum of 100 hours of aided night
  • 50 hours of hood or actual time instrument time in flight in category. (Simulator time does not count.) A pilot that is dual qualified in fixed wing with 100 hours of actual instrument time can reduce this requirement to 25 hours
  • Able to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external entities to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results

Compliance/HIPAA: Must perform work in the manner prescribed by documented work process in order to ensure compliance with all rules and regulations, accreditation standards and laws that apply, specifically work processes that involve billing practices, for avoiding activities that constitute fraud and abuse.
