Job DescriptionThe Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a Temporary Research Study Assistant to join their team.About this OpportunityReporting to the Associate Professor, the Research Study Assistant will support research projects related to patient safety, build hardware and software innovations to improve perioperative care and safety and support a team of designated colleagues in engineering and data science research conducted in the operating room.Examples of current projects include (1) measurement of neuromuscular blockade by twitch monitoring, and (2) the use of computer vision to identify anesthesia drug vials and syringes.Key ResponsibilitiesData Collection – 40%Collect data during clinical studies.Ensure that subjects meet all inclusion and exclusion criteria, following specific protocol compliance.Consult with research team on appropriate management of data collection/entry problems and concerns.Screening & Consenting Patients – 20%Speak with prospective study participants and complete the consent process.Ensure that subjects meet all inclusion and exclusion criteria, following specific protocol compliance.Data Entry & Analysis – 40%Perform data entry and maintenance of study records.Assist with data analysis and monitoring of related databases.Consult with research team on appropriate management of data collection/entry problems and concerns.Within scope of position, assist with manuscript writing.Required QualificationsTo be considered for this opportunity your application must demonstrate you meet both the minimum qualifications and additional qualifications listed below.
