Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant for the Center for Dermatology at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

The primary purpose of the research medical student, under the direction of the PI, is to engage future dermatology prospects in an intense one (1) year of research and to publish the research.


Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Learning and researching various dermatologic issues both at 1 WFD and offsite locations.
  • Compose and submit a manuscript for publication.
  • Student is expected to see patients at the 1 Worlds Fair Drive location when not researching with Dr. Rao.
  • Maintains the essential records and files.

  • Physical Demands: Position requires standing for a long duration of time, and walking the facility, sitting, use of the hands to finger, handle or feel, talk and hear 2/3 of the time, reach with hands and arms over 1/3 of the time, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl under 1/3 of the time. Position requires lifting 1/3 of the time up to 35 pounds in order to dispose of Laboratory sanitary waste and lift laboratory equipment.
  • Work Environment: Moderate noise environment with some exposure to blood borne pathogens requiring the use of personal protective equipment; some potential exposure to bio-hazardous materials and chemical waste.
