University of Louisville’s Price Institute of Surgical Research is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant to support colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease studies. You will assist researchers under supervision to conduct routine and non-routine experiments at a professional level.

Position Description:

Immediate opening for a Temporary Research Assistant position is available at the Price Institute of Surgical Research studying colorectal cancer and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. A successful candidate can assist research technicians and research fellows under general supervision, to execute a variety of routine and non-routine experiments at a professional level.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field of science.

Essential responsibilities include:

• Aid in the performance of routine and non-routine experiments, which are moderate. Tests may include those involving RNA and protein extractions, PCR, and other basic biochemical tests.
• Help transcribe and analyze data.
• May assist in maintaining long-term tissue cultures of rodent or human cell lines and monitor cells for viability and contamination.
• Perform basic literature searches and help to prepare presentations and written articles for publication.
• All other duties as assigned.

Target Compensation Maximum:

$100.00

Target Compensation Minimum:

$8.25

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
