Job Description: Operator (Captain of Record) of Calvert Marine Museum’s 65-foot passenger excursion vessels during regularly scheduled cruises and special charters. The Captain of Record is assigned to one of the historic vessel Wm. B. Tennison or Dee of St. Mary’s, docked at Calvert Marine Museum in Solomons, Maryland, which transits local waters of the Patuxent River and its tributaries. Captain is supervised by CMM Director or his designee.
Special Requirements: Enrollment in mandatory random drug‑testing program.
Physical Demands: Work requires long period of standing, repeated bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching or lifting objects up to 49 pounds.
Unusual Demands: Required to work weekends and holidays, May–October.
FLSA Status: Exempt (during the season) and Non‑Exempt (during the off‑season).
Compensation Steps: Pay rate: $38.22 per hour Grade H24, temporary position, 17.5 hours per week
