Job summary

Vista Health is seeking a compassionate Temporary Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical/Surgical team. The RN delivers high-quality nursing care by assessing patient needs, developing and executing care plans, administering medications, and monitoring progress.

This assignment requires an Illinois RN license, BLS, ACLS within six months of hire, and NIHSS within thirty days. Compensation is $65/hr day shifts and $70/hr night shifts, with occasional floating to other units and on-call

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• 2+ years of nursing experience preferred.
• Current Illinois RN license required.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• ACLS certification within six (6) months of hire.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification within thirty (30) days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
• Develop, implement, and update individualized plans of care.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and discharge planning.
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with nursing, organizational, and regulatory standards.
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and professional development activities.
• Supervise and coordinate patient care activities with Patient Care Technicians and Unit Secretaries as assigned.

Position Summary
