Job summary
Cal Poly is seeking a Temporary Processing Archivist in Library Academic Services to perform archival accessioning and processing for both physical and digital collections. You will help preserve and provide access to unique primary sources and support space planning and collection management within the Special Collections and Archives department.
The role requires knowledge of archival processing standards, experience with ArchivesSpace, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of standards and best practices in archives
- Ability to interpret and learn university library systems and operations
- Understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion in archives
- Working knowledge of ArchivesSpace or equivalent system
- Experience with academic library special collections and online resources
Responsibilities
- Perform archival accessioning and processing for physical and digital collections
- Maintain control of department collections and files; track collections
- Support space planning and repository organization
- Ensure long-term preservation and accessibility of materials
