Responsibilities

  • Conduct individualized fitness assessments to evaluate client needs and goals.
  • Design and implement safe, effective, and personalized training programs.
  • Adapt workouts during sessions to accommodate clients' abilities, limitations, or needs.
  • Instruct clients on proper exercise techniques, equipment usage, and safety principles.
  • Provide ongoing motivation, supervision, and support throughout training sessions.
  • Track client progress and maintain accurate session records.
  • Promote personal training services through Campus Rec Team.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment on the fitness floor.
  • Stay current with industry standards by completing required certifications and continuing education.
  • Attend staff meetings, trainings, and workshops as scheduled.
  • Identify potential hazards, implement risk-reduction strategies, and respond to injuries or emergencies to ensure client safety.
  • Uphold client confidentiality and adhere to privacy protocols.
  • Perform additional duties assigned.

Job Summary

Candidates must hold a current, nationally accredited certification and demonstrate a strong commitment to helping clients/members achieve their health and wellness goals. The personal training program emphasizes professionalism, evidence-based practices, and a supportive training environment. Responsibilities include developing personalized fitness programs, conducting assessments, and providing ongoing guidance and motivation to clients.

Duties Includes
  • Conduct individualized fitness assessments to evaluate client needs and goals.
  • Design and implement safe, effective, and personalized training programs.
  • Adapt workouts during sessions to accommodate clients' abilities, limitations, or needs.
  • Instruct clients on proper exercise techniques, equipment usage, and safety principles.

Minimum Qualifications

One year of experience preferred but not required, of actively leading successful dance classes in group fitness setting.

Current Group Fitness and CPR/AED certification and must maintain certification throughout employment.

Certified to lead group fitness class

Desired Qualifications
  • Valid nationally accredited personal training certification (NASM, AFAA, ACE, ACSM, NCSF, NSCA, NETA) or equivalent.
  • Current CPR/AED/ First Aid certification (or obtain within 30 days of hire).
