Qualifications

We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Temporary Payroll Administrator in our Finance Department to join the team in our New York office.

CohnReznick is a hybrid firm and most of our professionals are located within a commutable distance to one of our offices. This position is considered hybrid which means team members are expected to be thoughtful and intentional in how they create opportunities for in-person collaboration. While the cadence of in-office presence is determined at the team level, our professionals are encouraged to be in the office/together in person on average 3 days a week.

YOUR ROLE.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Ensure timely processing of multi-state bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls in accordance with labor regulations and standard accounting principles
  • Administer, calculate, and record payroll deductions
  • Process wage garnishments, pay levies and other involuntary court-ordered payments in a timely manner
  • Perform tasks to establish and maintain payroll records
  • Review payroll reports for accuracy and process adjustments if needed
  • Prepare special reports for management as needed
  • Assist Payroll Manager in proactively identifying gaps within the payroll process and escalate as necessary
  • Respond to departmental inquiries and issues related to payroll information. Works to resolve issues and problems in an expeditious and satisfactory manner
  • Work closely with People & Culture department

YOUR EXPERIENCE.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a mid-size (approximately 3-4k employees), multi-state company
  • Understanding of multi-location payroll and local, state and federal rules and laws on payroll taxes
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel)
  • Experience with Ultimate Kronos Group Software
  • Able to work overtime when necessary
  • Ability to problem solve, analyze, good mathematical skills and be able to multitask in a fast pace environment
  • Outstanding communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Experience in a Professional Service Industry a plus
