Job Description: The Hampton Inn & Suites Albany Airport is looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Front Desk Associate to join our team and be a part of all the action and fun that comes with working at a hotel! The Front Desk Associate will serve as the guests’ first point of contact and manage all aspects of their accommodation. Responsibilities include registering guests, managing reservations, and providing information about rooms, rates, and amenities while maintaining high standards of service and hospitality. Job Responsibilities:
  1. Provide the highest quality of service to the customer at all times.
  2. Promptly and effectively deal with guest complaints and requests.
  3. Check guests in and out efficiently and in a friendly manner.
  4. Post guest charges and compute guest bill, collect payment and make change for hotel guests following all cash handling procedures as required by the Company.
  5. Handle guest mail and messages per established procedures.
  6. Be very knowledgeable of Rewards program and promotions.
  7. Develop a thorough knowledge of hotel staff, room locations, room rates, amenities, and selling strategies.
  8. Take reservation requests efficiently.
  9. Answer switchboard in accordance with standards of proper telephone etiquette.
  10. Block rooms and handle special requests.
  11. Monitor room availability.
  12. Handle safe deposits by guests per established procedures.
  13. Keep lobby and desk area clean and presentable.
  14. Have a thorough knowledge of emergency and security procedures.
  15. Offer and properly handle requests for wake up calls.
  16. Know how to clean guest rooms to standards.
  17. Clean lobby, meeting room, vending room, breakfast room, and back-office area.
  18. Open and close shift; make cash drops.
  19. Ensure all credit cards, cash, and change fund are balanced throughout each shift.
  20. Inform management of any guest or systems related complaints or problems.
  21. Communicate with incoming staff and management by logging pertinent information.
  22. Keep maintenance informed of all maintenance needs.
  23. Pass on guest lost and found inquiries to management or supervisors.
  24. Assist in marketing effort by completing Company Tracking.
  25. Must wear proper uniform at all times in accordance with the Standards of Appearance.
  26. Have a thorough knowledge of emergency procedures.
  27. Practice safety standards at all times.
  28. Employee must adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the Company including, but not limited to, those contained in the employee handbook.
Qualifications:
  1. Work experience as a Hotel Front Desk Associate or similar role preferred.
  2. Experience with hotel reservations software preferred.
  3. Customer service attitude.
  4. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  5. High school diploma or equivalent verbal, written and administrative skills.
Compensation:

Starting Pay: $15.50/hr.-$16/hr.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.50 - $16.00 per hour
