Job summary

The City of Federal Way operates Splash Café at the Federal Way Community Center, seeking a part-time team member for mornings. The role includes customer service, basic food prep, and cash handling in a small café setting.

Temporary, with no benefits, 10–17 hours per week. Prior food handling and a cash drawer experience are preferred; a WA Food Worker Permit is required on hire and CPR/First Aid within 6 weeks.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Previous experience in food handling and operating a cash drawer preferred.
• Valid Washington State Food Worker Permit upon hire.
• Current First Aid and CPR cards required; certification within first 6 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Assist in opening and closing Splash Café for daily operations.
• Serve food and drinks to guests with excellent customer service.
• Receive monies, make change, and reconcile sales daily.
• Maintain inventory and restock supplies; inform when low.
• Keep the café and dining area clean and sanitary; cooperate with maintenance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
