Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks a paraprofessional to support teachers in delivering an innovative, high-quality education program for students in a temporary vacancy. This role reports to the Principal/Head of School and ends on 05/03/2027 when the current paraprofessional returns.

The paraprofessional will assist in instruction, prepare materials, manage classroom activities, and supervise students on field trips, contributing to a respectful and engaging learning environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• 48 college credit hours of college coursework or an Associate's Degree, or a passing score on ParaPro Assessment or WorkKeys Certification.
• Minimum of two years experience working with young children.
• Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Supports direct instruction to children individually, in small groups, and in classroom settings.
• Provides assistance with classroom activities.
• Prepares instructional materials.
• Assists in classroom set up and clean up.
• Manages individual and classroom behavior, using prescribed approaches.
• Supervises students on field trip activities.
• Performs other related duties as requested by Head of School/Principal.
