Job description

Church of the Reformation (Lutheran) on Capitol Hill is Looking for a pianist/organist to help us with Sunday services beginning on 9/2 until we launch an official call/search process for a Music Director.

If you are interested, here are the details:

Services are at 8:30 and 11a. The 8:30 is a different flavor, but if you're not interested in that one, we can find someone else for that service (it has soft piano music playing throughout, and is shorter and more introspective than a typical service)

Responsibilities would be Sunday service music, which includes a prelude from the organist and accompanying a musical offering from a Cantor. Usually there is a short warmup with the cantor downstairs beforehand.

Honorarium is $400/wk for Sunday only; we can negotiate higher if you are interested in helping to rehearse a choir.

We will need someone for the foreseeable future, the work is steady and consistent, and there is not much deviation from standard liturgical programming.

We will be launching an official search for a more substantial and permanent position FT in the near future.
