Job summary

Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community (SRPMIC) Education Department seeks a temporary/on-call Substitute Teacher to cover classes when the regular teacher is unavailable. The role requires delivering instruction, taking attendance, and following the lesson plans left by the classroom teacher.

Candidates should have some teaching/instructional experience and hold an AZ DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card and/or Arizona Department of Education Substitute Teacher Certificate or a valid Teaching

Qualifications

• Some teaching/instructional experience preferred.
• Must have a current AZ DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Arizona Department of Education Substitute Teacher Certificate and/or valid Teaching Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the location and at the times designated.
• Implements the lesson plans left by the classroom teacher.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.
• Takes attendance in accordance with school procedures.
• Serves as a positive role model with professionalism and respectful communication.
• Insures that the students are never left unattended in the classroom.
• Maintains a neat and orderly classroom.
• Understands procedures for referring students with disciplinary problems.
• Performs other related duties to ensure efficient functioning of the work unit.
