Zusammenfassung

SWCA Environmental Consultants seeks Cultural Resources Field Technicians for the Midwest team, supporting projects across Illinois and neighboring states. This is a temporary, hourly, non-exempt role with 40–50 weekly hours, emphasizing fieldwork on solar, government, and related projects.

Midwest candidates receive priority consideration. Work includes surveying, shovel testing, recording data with GPS, and adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in anthropology, archaeology, or related field or in progress.
• Completion of an accredited archaeological field school.
• Ability to travel, walk long hours, work in inclement weather and rugged terrain.
• Ability to carry equipment weighing 25–50 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license and safe operation of 4WD vehicle on rugged roads.

Aufgaben

• Perform archaeological surveying and field testing, including shovel test pits and excavation units.
• Document field data with forms, photos, in-field mapping and GPS data under supervision.
• Maintain safety, communicate hazards, and assist Field Lead or Project Archaeologist.
