• 3+ years purchasing, sourcing, or manufacturing experience.
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin required; ability to type in Chinese characters preferred.
• Import/export experience with overseas suppliers preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel formulas and functions.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to provide timely follow-up.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Flexibility to accommodate occasional meetings and communications with international suppliers and business partners across multiple time zones.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day material planning, purchasing, and inventory activities.
• Utilize ERP/MRP systems to maintain accurate data, review demand requirements, and support purchasing decisions.
• Monitor supplier performance based on cost, quality, and delivery.
• Coordinate with internal departments to resolve material shortages, inventory discrepancies, and invoice issues.
• Proactively communicate material constraints and supply risks that could affect production schedules or customer commitments.
• Review excess and obsolete inventory and provide recommendations to improve inventory utilization.
• Track and analyze KPIs and recommend improvements to material management processes and operational efficiency.

A well-established company is seeking an experienced Temporary Mandarin Bilingual Buyer to support its supply chain, material planning, and purchasing operations. This position will work closely with domestic and international suppliers to maintain inventory levels, manage purchase orders, and help ensure the timely delivery of materials.

• Location: Torrance, CA
• Employment Type: Temporary – approximately 6 months
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
• Compensation: $39–$42/hour, DOE
