Temporary Litigation Paralegal for Top Financial Services Company - Remote

Our client, a top financial services organization, is seeking a temporary litigation paralegal on a remote basis. The role is anticipated to run for 3-6 months and is 100% remote. Ideally, candidates should have exposure to the insurance industry, some discovery experience, and experience dealing with outside counsel.

This role reports to the Head of Operations and Administration – Office of the General Counsel. In this dynamic role, you will support legal executives managing the day-to-day legal needs across multiple U.S. locations of the firm’s life and retirement savings businesses.

Responsibilities:

  1. Managing and preparing timely responses to legal subpoenas, under attorney supervision.
  2. Responding to document requests, including collection and preservation of documents.
  3. Preparing and managing internal reports, such as quarterly reports for senior business and legal leaders on significant matters, claims, and legal contingencies.
  4. Coordinating with legal operations to assist attorneys in review, approval, and payment of law firm and vendor invoices.
  5. Issuing and managing litigation hold notices.
  6. Accepting receipt of service of process and directing it to appropriate internal attorneys.
  7. Assisting outside counsel with discovery requests and interfacing with outside vendors, including eDiscovery vendors.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5-7+ years of relevant industry and/or major law firm experience.
  • Self-starter with initiative, able to meet and exceed deadlines, prioritize, multi-task, and remain flexible in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to balance thoughtful decision-making with careful and timely execution.
  • Strong communication, analytical, organizational, research, and writing skills.
