Job description

**Job Description**

Primary Purpose: Responsible for supervising pool activities.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

  1. Explaining and enforcing rules, regulations, and policies to ensure the safety of pool visitors.
  2. Monitoring designated areas to recognize signs of danger.
  3. Warning swimmers regarding unsafe situations.
  4. Maintaining order in the swimming area.
  5. Responding to emergencies and rescuing swimmers in danger of drowning.
  6. Performing first aid procedures.
  7. Administering CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessary.
  8. Keeping the pool and surrounding areas clean and free of debris.
  9. Opening and closing the facility to visitors.
  10. Keeping current with all certifications and training required by the Lifeguard Certification Program.
  11. Adhering to all pool safety standards, including safety procedures for adverse weather conditions.
  12. Maintaining a collaborative work environment and working well with others.
  13. Performing other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
  • Current Lifeguard Training, CPR, and First Aid certifications (proof required).
  • Prior lifeguard experience preferred.
  • Strong swimming ability.
  • Flexible schedule availability, including weekends.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to withstand outdoor elements for extended periods.

Additional Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Outlook Email.

Working Conditions: Indoor and outdoor work with frequent customer interaction, involving walking, standing, lifting up to 30 lbs., bending, and operating equipment. May involve exposure to adverse weather conditions.
