Job summary

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe and effective use of Ball State University pools.
• Monitor all safety and customer service aspects of Lewellen Aquatic Center and Ball Pool during hours of operation.
• Enforce Recreation Services policies and procedures.
• Test and monitor pool water chemistry and temperature.
• Maintain accurate pool participation procedures and counts.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Qualifications

• Current certification in Lifeguard, First‑aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer from a nationally recognized organization (American Red Cross, StarGuard, YMCA, Ellis, etc.).
• Must be 16 years of age or older.

Preferred Experience

• Additional experience lifeguarding in a public pool setting.
