UC San Diego's Jacobs School of Engineering invites applications for temporary Unit 18 Lecturers to teach graduate courses in the Masters of Advanced Studies programs, Convergent Systems Engineering (CoSE) or Architecture-Based Enterprise Systems Engineering (AESE).

Unit 18 Lecturers are expected to grade assignments, manage student records, provide constructive feedback, supervise teaching assistants, hold office hours, and guide senior students in independent study research.

Qualifications

• Teach graduate-level courses in the Masters of Advanced Studies (MAS) programs Convergent Systems Engineering (CoSE) or Architecture-Based Enterprise Systems Engineering (AESE).
• Grading and maintaining student records by the assigned due date.
• Provide constructive feedback to students and advise on academic matters.
• Supervise teaching assistants, keep office hours, and respond to inquiries from students and departments.

Description du poste

The Jacobs School of Engineering at UCSD has multiple opportunities for temporary, non-tenure track lecturers (Unit 18) in our Masters of Advanced Studies (MAS) Degree Programs. Unit 18 Lecturers are governed by the Memorandum of Understanding (Contract | UCnet). We seek applicants to teach at the graduate level in the master's degree programs Convergent Systems Engineering (CoSE) or the Architecture-Based Enterprise Systems Engineering (AESE). Additional responsibilities of the Unit 18 Lecturer will include:

• Grading: Lecturers are responsible for turning in grades and other student records by the assigned due date.
• Feedback: Lecturers should provide constructive feedback to students. They may also advise students on academic matters.
• Other responsibilities: Lecturers may be required to supervise teaching assistants, keep office hours, and respond to inquiries from students, departments, and other university personnel. They may also be asked to guide senior students in their independent study research.
