The Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) is seeking a temporary Laboratory Technician to assist with tissue sectioning and related laboratory tasks. This position is ideal for an undergraduate student interested in biomedical research, medicine, or graduate/professional school seeking hands-on lab experience.

Work hours are flexible part-time, about 20 hours weekly, with scheduling between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, at our Oklahoma City campus.

  • Supporting general laboratory organization and routine lab maintenance.
  • Following established protocols and safety procedures.
  • Working closely with lab members and taking direction from supervisors.

The Ocañas Lab is seeking a temporary Laboratory Technician to assist with tissue sectioning and related laboratory tasks. This position is ideal for an undergraduate student interested in biomedical research, medicine, or graduate/professional school who is looking to gain hands‑on laboratory experience.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Preparing and sectioning tissue samples using standard laboratory techniques.
  • Assisting with organization, labeling, and tracking of tissue specimens.
  • Maintaining accurate and meticulous records of samples and procedures.
  • Supporting general laboratory organization and routine lab maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Prior laboratory experience is helpful but not required; training will be provided.
Work Hours

Flexible part‑time hours, with scheduling available during the regular workweek, Monday through Friday, sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The position requires availability for 20 hours per week.
