The Ocaas Lab is seeking a part time Laboratory Technician to assist with tissue sectioning and related laboratory tasks This position is ideal for an undergraduate student interested in biomedical research medicine or graduateprofessional school who is looking to gain hands on laboratory experience Responsibilities will include Preparing and sectioning tissue samples using standard laboratory techniquesAssisting with organization labeling and tracking of tissue specimensMaintaining accurate and meticulous records of samples and proceduresSupporting general laboratory organization and routine lab maintenanceFollowing established protocols and safety proceduresWorking closely with lab members and taking direction from supervisors
Excellent organizational skillsReliable self driven and highly attentive to detailAble to follow instructions take direction and keep meticulous recordsTeam oriented personable and able to work well with diverse personalitiesDetail oriented and able to work independently as well as part of a teamExcellent oral and written communication skillsAvailability to work at least 20 hours per week during the regular workweek Monday through Friday
Student with an interest in biomedical research medical school or related healthscience careersInterest in gaining hands on laboratory experienceBasic knowledge of routine laboratory proceduresBasic knowledge of Microsoft Office softwarePrior laboratory experience is helpful but not required; training will be provided
