Job summary

SGS is seeking a Lab Technician at our City of Industry, CA laboratory for a 90-day temporary assignment. The role focuses on preparing samples with accuracy following analytical SOPs and supporting daily production targets while maintaining safety standards.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 0–2 years in Analytical Chemistry, and basic English, math, and computer skills. GC experience is a plus and overtime is eligible.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 0-2 years of experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories, required
• Associate's degree in chemistry or similar scientific discipline, and 1-2 years of years’ relevant experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories, preferred
• GC experience preferred
• Advanced English language skills (Required)
• Basic mathematical and reasoning skills (Required)
• Basic computer skills (Required)
• Ability to lift/carry/push or pull upwards of 25 lbs. on a frequent basis (Required)

Responsibilities

• After appropriate training independently receive, login, or prep samples for analysis according to SGS’ analytical SOPs using basic instrumentation specific to the department and analytical methodologies
• Performs routine operation, maintenance, calibration of prep instruments/equipment
• May assist with validation and MDL studies
• Inputs and maintains technical information as needed to support the laboratory functions/operations
• Maintains Laboratory Notebook where applicable
• Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures
• Performs other duties as required
