Job summary

Qualifications

• Working-level knowledge of the English language (reading, writing and speaking).
• Education to obtain and maintain Nevada RN licensure.
• At least 1+ year RN experience in labor and delivery within the last 3 years.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Nevada RN license; POCA license within 120 days of hire.
• Current BLS certification; additional department certificates within six months of hire/transfer.
• ACLS as required by department; PALS/ENLS/ENPC/NRP per timelines.
• RNFA eligibility if RNFA program completed per AORN core curriculum.
• Computer skills to complete online learning, forms, policies, benefits enrollment.

Responsibilities

• Provide optimal patient care using the nursing process across adolescent to geriatric patients and their families.
• Deliver comprehensive nursing services to newborns through geriatrics in Labor & Delivery.
• Work within a diverse Labor & Delivery unit with on-site anesthesia and multiple beds/ORs.
• Adhere to department policies and attain required certifications within specified timelines.

Position Purpose

This position provides optimal patient care utilizing knowledge and skills within the context of the nursing process. The incumbent is accountable for individualized patient outcomes over an entire episode of care. The incumbent provides comprehensive nursing services to adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, including their families/caregivers.

The incumbent provides comprehensive nursing services to newborn, children, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, including their families/caregivers.

Renown Labor & Delivery is a very diverse unit that provides maternal health care to a variety of patients. These patients are all at some end of the pregnancy spectrum and require a multitude of interventions depending on what point they are at in their pregnancy.

Renown Labor & Delivery Unit has 6 triage beds, 15 labor beds, 9 antepartum beds, 3 ORs and a 3 bed recovery rooms and the team works with midwives, PAs, and physicians, and we have 24 hours on site anesthesia.

This position does provide patient care.

Minimum Qualifications

• Description
• Education: Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Appropriate education to obtain and maintain Registered Nursing licensure in the State of Nevada.
• Experience: At least 1+ years working as an RN in a labor and delivery department is required. Experience must be within the last 3 years.
• Licenses: Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Registered Nurse license. State of Nevada Point of Care Analyst POCA license required within 120 days of hire: 200179, 200255, 209256, 200266, 400266.
• Certifications: Current BLS certification by The American Heart Association standards. Other Specific Department Required Certificates: Employees will obtain the extra certifications within six months, unless otherwise specified, of being hired or transferring into the department that requires the additional certificates.
• ACLS: Per The American Heart Association Standards Required for Departments: multiple course codes listed (as required by department).
• PALS/ENLS/ENPC/NRP: Various department-specific requirements with timelines ranging from 3 to 24 months of hire or transfer to the department.
• RNFA: RN may perform as a first assist if a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing with RNFA program completion aligned to AORN core curriculum (as listed).
• Computer / Typing: Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, computer skills to complete online learning requirements, access online forms and policies, and complete benefits enrollment.
