Overview
This on-site position will combine the responsibilities of both an IT Support Specialist and a Classroom Technology Specialist. The IT Support Specialist position provides first-tier service for all faculty, staff, and students, resolving many problems at initial intake, researching others, and escalating as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide solid, across-the-board computer, peripherals, and operating systems support to identify, prioritize, troubleshoot, and resolve technical problems.
- Support the following technologies and services: Windows 10, macOS, TCP/IP, Microsoft Office 2016, SharePoint 2010, remote troubleshooting/assistance, mobile devices (iPad, iPhone, Android), email applications (Mail, Outlook), and imaging technologies (Windows Deployment Services).
- Maintain customer service focus with strong interpersonal and written communication skills; remain calm under pressure.
- Develop written procedures and effective end-user technical documentation; work flexible or extended hours as needed; may provide on-call services.
- Lift 25–50 lbs occasionally as required.
Classroom Technology Specialist responsibilities
- Assist the Classroom & Instructional Technology Manager in supporting teaching and learning efforts at the School of Nursing, both in person and virtually.
- Perform routine maintenance checks in classrooms and conference rooms to ensure proper functioning; provide scheduled and emergency assistance to faculty before and during classes.
- Monitor metrics for classrooms and conference rooms to identify usage patterns and improvements to enhance user experience.
Qualifications
- Strong team, organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills; ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Experience conducting technical training and orientations for users is desired but not mandatory.
- General knowledge of Windows 10; macOS knowledge is helpful.
- Knowledge of AV technologies (Crestron systems) is strongly desired but not required.
- Preferred knowledge of Canvas, Adobe Connect, Poll Everywhere, and Panopto.
