Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a licensed Teacher for a North/Northwest Side campus. You will plan lessons, deliver instruction, assess student progress, and maintain records in alignment with CPS standards.

Requires successful completion of student teaching and an Illinois teaching certificate (PEL/ELS). Strong classroom management, family communication, and collaboration with staff are essential. CPS offers health, retirement, and paid time off benefits.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of student teaching and coursework to obtain the appropriate teaching certificate(s).
• Valid Illinois license (PEL) or Educator License with Stipulations (ELS) endorsed for this position.
• Knowledge of subject matter and classroom management techniques.
• Ability to communicate with parents/guardians about student progress, attendance, and conduct.

Responsibilities

• Plan instructional activities and provide written lesson plans aligned with CPS objectives.
• Instruct, monitor progress, and maintain accurate records of student achievement.
• Maintain discipline and create a positive learning environment in classrooms and on school grounds.
• Coordinate with families, administrators, and staff to support student success.
• Participate in in-service and professional development activities.
