Housekeeper

Masonicare at Middlewoods of Farmington - Farmington, CT

Day Shift / 40 hrs/wk

Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Summary of Position:

Performs routine and project-based housekeeping duties in assigned areas of Wesley Heights, following instructions and standard procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Receive instructions regarding work assignment; gather cleaning supplies and equipment for transport to the designated area. Duties include cleaning common areas and residents’ homes, dusting furnishings and woodwork, washing walls and windows, mopping floors, vacuuming, and changing beds.
2. Use of stepladders and mechanical vacuums may be required. Detect and report equipment issues or concerns to supervision. Maintain cleanliness and order of work areas and equipment.
3. Maintain safety by surveilling housekeeping carts in resident-access areas and following safety and infection control procedures.
4. Interact respectfully with residents, addressing complaints or concerns effectively and tactfully, considering their age, cultural background, and physical condition.
5. Collaborate positively with staff as part of a team.
6. Attend departmental meetings and in-service training programs.
7. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
