Berlin Public Schools seeks a Custodial Supervisor to oversee custodial staff, assign daily tasks, and ensure clean, safe school facilities. The role requires coordinating maintenance, managing attendance records, and upholding safety policies.
Two years of custodial experience and ability to read, write, and follow instructions are expected. The position is temporary through December 31, 2026, with a 6:00 am–2:30 pm schedule and hourly pay.

Supervises custodial staff within assigned school. Responsible for the work assignments, training and quality of work performed by custodians. Performs a variety of custodial and maintenance duties and related work, as required.
Works under the direction of the Director of Business Operations and the Building Administration.
Two (2) years experience on the Berlin custodial staff or some similar organization. Demonstrated ability to read, write and follow instructions as well as meet the physical demands of the work involved. Extensive understanding of cleaning agents and materials as well as the mechanical operation of scrubbing, polishing, buffing, shampooing and other custodial equipment. Must possess (or have the ability to obtain) a valid Connecticut Operator's license.
The duties of this job require physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking over rough or difficult surfaces, climbing, lifting of heavy items less than 75 pounds. Working with items in excess of 75 pounds will be with the assistance of manual or powered equipment. The work environment may include some or all of the following: inside and outside environment; repetitive activities (performance of the same physically demanding activity); dirty environment (situations in which workers or their clothing can become dirty, greasy, etc); air contamination (dust, fumes, toxic odors, etc). May come in contact with hazardous materials.
This is a temporary position to begin as soon as possible and continue through December 31, 2026 (with possibility of extension for a longer term). Monday through Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 p.m. Hourly rate of $30.80. Please be advised that there are no benefits associated with this temporary position.
