• Counsel students in individual routine matters, problems referred by teachers, parents, administrators or counselee.
• Keep on file pertinent data relative to student, school and community activities.
• Assist teachers in interpreting records to help them understand their students.
• Refer students to the appropriate persons or agencies in the community when special assistance is needed.
• Interview and help transition students entering for the first time, and those withdrawing or transferring.
• Counsel students on post-graduate educational and vocational plans.
• Interpret test scores, past achievement records and other evaluative data.
• Arrange for homework assignments when students or parents request because of illness or extended absence.
