Job summary

Itasca Area Schools Collaborative is seeking a dedicated dishwashing and kitchen support role to ensure clean dishes and a smooth lunchroom operation. The position reports to the Food Service Supervisor and Head Cook, with supervision as required.

Responsibilities include washing and sanitizing pots and pans, maintaining clean work areas, and assisting in related duties. Requires basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and USDA guidelines, plus the ability to work well with colleagues.

Qualifications

• Some knowledge of the use or care of food preparation equipment.
• Some knowledge of USDA rules and regulations.
• Ability to use standardized and specialized kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates.

Education and Experience

Salary Range: $17.92 - $19.92/hour

Physical Requirements

This work requires the frequent exertion of up to 25 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 70 pounds of force; worker is frequently standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle or feel and reaching with hands and arms and occasionally requires stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, pushing or pulling, lifting and repetitive motions; work has no special vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, operating machines and observing general surroundings and activities; work frequently requires exposure to wet, humid conditions (non-weather) and occasionally requires exposure to fumes or airborne particles and exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office with typewriters and/or computer printers, light traffic).
