Job summary

Trial Balance Consulting is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant for an immediate temporary assignment in Falmouth with hybrid working and a competitive rate of £30.00 per hour. The role will support inventory accounting, governance and wider finance activities within a busy team.

Ideal candidates are ACA/ACCA/CIMA, with strong Excel skills and a track record in stock-based environments. Qualified or near-qualified applicants are welcomed for consideration.

Qualifications

• This role requires ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualifications, or near-qualified candidates will be considered.
• Manufacturing or stock-based experience is advantageous.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to hit the ground running are expected.

Responsibilities

• Supporting inventory accounting, reconciliations and stock reporting.
• Investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies.
• Maintaining robust financial controls and governance.
• Providing support across the wider finance function as business priorities change.
• Assisting with payroll and finance-related activities where required.
• Working closely with operational and non-finance stakeholders.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and controls.

Falmouth – Hybrid – £30.00 per hour – Immediate Start

Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to be working with a well‑established and highly successful Cornish business to recruit an experienced Financial Accountant for an immediate temporary assignment.

This is a broad and varied role that will suit a technically strong accountant who enjoys variety and can quickly become a valuable member of a busy finance team. Whilst there is a particular focus on inventory accounting, you'll also provide support across wider finance activities, helping maintain financial controls and ensuring the smooth running of key processes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting inventory accounting, reconciliations and stock reporting
• Investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies
• Maintaining robust financial controls and governance
• Providing support across the wider finance function as business priorities change
• Assisting with payroll and finance‑related activities where required
• Working closely with operational and non‑finance stakeholders
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and controls

I'm keen to hear from qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) accountants, although experienced part‑qualified candidates will also be considered. Previous experience within manufacturing or stock‑based environments would be advantageous, along with strong Excel skills and the ability to hit the ground running.
