Job Title: Motor Equipment Operator (Seasonal)

Salary: $20.00/hr

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Operates various types of motorized equipment and performs manual labor tasks. Position available from May 13, 2025, to August 30, 2025. Please note that this is a seasonal, non-benefited position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of motorized equipment and machinery, including servicing and minor mechanical repairs. Follow detailed assignments provided by the supervisor, adhere to standard procedures, and ensure safety and efficiency. Tasks include repairing and maintaining roads and bridges, lifting up to 80 pounds, working in adverse weather conditions, and performing other duties as assigned.

EXAMPLES OF WORK:
  • Grade and maintain gravel and dirt roads.
  • Repair bridges, auto gates, and culverts.
  • Operate trucks for transporting sand, stone, gravel, and supplies.
  • Operate dump trucks, skid steers with attachments, vibratory rollers, front-end loaders, forklifts, and backhoes.
  • Weld and cut steel for cattle guard construction.
  • Assist in loading and unloading materials and equipment.
  • Perform shop tasks when not operating heavy machinery.
  • Install and maintain traffic signs and guard rails.
  • Operate computer systems for record-keeping of time, service, and materials.
  • Operate radio equipment, transit, and level for grade readings.
  • Build and repair snow fences, operate high-pressure water systems, and clean cattle guards.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Proficient in operating backhoes, graders, tractors, trucks, and other heavy equipment under all weather conditions. Ability to follow complex written and oral instructions, with a good understanding of traffic and mechanical systems. Must work well in teams and independently.

ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

Experience in heavy automotive equipment operation, high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid Wyoming Class A-CDL driver’s license. Pre-employment drug testing, background check, and driver’s license verification are required.
