NYLAG is hiring a Temporary Staff Attorney for 6 months to work on unemployment insurance cases. The attorney will review a docket, advise CAPU/ELP Directors, and represent clients on unemployment matters.
The role is in New York, with supervision by the Employment Law Project Director and the Community Access Programs Unit Director. Requires JD and NYS Bar, up to five years’ experience in employment law, and strong communication and analytical skills.

NYLAG’s Community Access Programs Unit (CAPU) and Employment Law Project (ELP) have an immediate opening for a Temporary Staff Attorney (6 Months) to work on an existing docket of unemployment insurance cases. The Staff Attorney will review and analyze Unemployment Insurance Appeal Board cases, propose next steps to CAPU and ELP Directors, and advise and represent clients on pending unemployment insurance cases. The Staff Attorney will be supervised jointly by the Director of the Employment Law Project and the Director of the Community Access Programs Unit.

NYLAG is a unionized workplace, and salaries are set pursuant to a collective bargaining agreement. The current salary range for this position is between $90,262 and $100,532, pro-rated for time worked (6 Months).
