The Temporary Employee Relations Specialist plays a vital role in fostering a positive and productive work environment. This role involves conducting impartial investigations into employee concerns such as harassment, discrimination, and misconduct. The specialist provides guidance to employees and managers on workplace issues, including performance concerns, policy interpretation, conflict resolution, and employee relations. Administrative tasks like maintaining employee records and supporting HR projects may also be part of the role.

Primary stakeholders: Front Line Staff and Managers

Additional Details:

  • Full-time temporary role lasting approximately 5 months.
  • Starting pay at $33/hr.
  • Candidates must reside within driving distance to Baltimore, MD, for occasional on-site meetings.
Responsibilities
  • Investigate and resolve employee complaints, grievances, and conflicts, ensuring fairness and policy compliance.
  • Guide managers on handling performance issues, disciplinary actions, and terminations in line with policies and laws.
  • Conduct confidential investigations into misconduct, harassment, or discrimination allegations.
  • Develop and deliver training on conflict resolution, workplace ethics, and compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local labor laws such as FMLA, ADA, and EEO.
  • Analyze trends in employee relations to identify patterns and suggest proactive solutions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of employee relations cases to support decision-making and mitigate risks.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture through communication and engagement initiatives.
  • Provide administrative and operational support as needed regionally.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in administrative or human resources roles.
  • Travel requirement: 15%.
