Temp Dietary Associate-Mount Sinai Hospital

Description

Under the direction of the Patient Services Manager, responsible for the diet office functions including printing, organizing, and sorting patient menus by nursing units. Updates diet changes and missed meals prior to each meal. Maintains communication with Clinical Dietitians regarding patients' dietary preferences and requirements. Monitors interface of TDS/CBORD and enters/reviews patient data for quality improvement and patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Review patient census information and liaise with CTS for meal setup.
• Obtain and communicate changes in patient diet and room status.
• Print and organize daily patient menus by nursing unit.
• Distribute menus to nursing units.
• Enter patient meal preferences using bedside menu system.
• Deliver meals and trays to patients' bedside.
• Retrieve soiled trays and restock supplies.
• Maintain menu tallies and totals.
• Insert new menus and handle discharges.
• Communicate with dietitians about patients and special orders.
• Answer phones courteously and record calls.
• Ensure patient satisfaction during meal times.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and professional appearance.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $24.18 - $26.29 per hour, dependent on experience and other factors. This does not include bonuses or additional compensation.
