*Temporary, Full-Time Dental Assistant opportunity in Meriden, Monday - Friday, for approximately 3+ months*

Supports the dentist in delivering primary dental care, prepares equipment and the workplace for use, and contributes to a supportive atmosphere for dental patients. Utilizes chairside, four-handed dentistry techniques.

  1. Prepares office and treatment areas each day.
  2. Performs pre- and post-treatment set-up and clean-up procedures for each patient, following all Agency protocols.
  3. Prepares patients for dental procedures.
  4. Assists the dentist at chairside, using 4-handed techniques.
  5. Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of instruments and techniques used for all procedures.
  6. Performs independent patient services as directed, including patient triage, radiographs, impressions, suture removal, temporary fillings, recementing crowns, and laboratory work.
  7. Maintains dental facility, treatment areas, equipment, and instruments in proper working order.
  8. Maintains an adequate inventory of dental supplies.
  9. Follows safety and infection control standards at all times, including appropriate use of PPE.
  10. Performs quality radiographs as prescribed; processes, mounts, and labels them properly. Complies with radiation safety standards for staff and patients.
  11. Provides excellent customer service, focusing on quality of care and teamwork aligned with departmental and Agency needs.
  12. Complies with Agency-mandated in-service training workshops (EOC, Working Safely, Abuse, etc.).
  13. Maintains confidentiality of patient and business information according to CHC policies, including full access to patient medical records and encounter data.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent).
  • Graduate of an accredited Dental Assisting School or two years of dental experience in general dentistry.
  • Certification in Dental Radiology and Infection Control from the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB).
  • Commitment to preventive dental care.
  • Knowledge and interest in providing care to a diverse patient population.
  • Written and oral bilingual fluency in the language spoken by our patient population (e.g., English/Spanish or English/Polish) is strongly preferred.
