A position is available for a delivery driver responsible for receiving, tracking, and delivering library materials within Salt Lake City. The successful applicant will need to operate a County truck, manage inventory, and ensure timely delivery of materials while adhering to safety practices. Applicants must have a valid Utah driver's license and pass necessary background checks.
JOB SUMMARYReceives, tracks, and deliver’s library materials. Allocates incoming shipments, controls inventory, and generates reports. Operates a County truck to deliver materials according to a designated route.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSOne (1) year of related experience driving box truck or other similar delivery vehicles.Must possess a valid Utah Driver’s License in order to drive a County vehicle. Must pass initial and annual driver’s license review and complete driver safety training.
Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant must pass a required pre-employment background check and subsequent mandatory background checks in accordance with current County Human Resources policy requirements.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 150 pounds; push/pull a loaded hand truck; stand, walk or sit for extended periods of time; bend, stoop, reach, kneel, squat; and work in confined spaces. Exposure to seasonal weather conditions (both hot and cold) and adverse road conditions and hazards.
TEMPORARY POSITIONS:
An "At Will", FLSA non-exempt employee who is not eligible for County benefits and who must work an average of 29 hours or less per week or an average of 129 hours or less per month.

• Are not eligible for County benefits except as otherwise provided for by policy.
• Are not considered merit employees.
• Are "at will" employees who may be terminated for any reason, without notice, and without a pre-termination hearing.
