Job description

Delivery Driver Helper

The Delivery Driver Helper assists Sherwin-Williams Delivery Service ("SWDS") drivers in making deliveries to customers and stores in a metropolitan area. Responsibilities include riding with the driver, helping unload products, maintaining safety awareness, and other duties as assigned. Work hours typically are from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., but may vary based on business needs.

This is a temporary 90-day position.

Due to contact with customers, including minors, and access to cash, electronic equipment, personal information, and valuable items, a criminal history review is conducted to ensure safety and protect company operations.

Job Duties:
  1. Assist driver with loading and unloading materials, following safety procedures and traffic laws, and documenting deliveries with signatures and photos via handheld device.
  2. Contact customers or stores before delivery and pick-up.
  3. Work a schedule that varies depending on delivery needs.
  4. Spend many hours riding in the vehicle passenger seat; driving is not required.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Legally authorized to work without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Able to retrieve materials from shelves and lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and 70 lbs. occasionally, with or without accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid, unrestricted Driver's License.
  • At least one year of experience handling material handling equipment.
  • At least one year of experience in delivery, retail, or customer service roles.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in more than one language, including Spanish.
