Job summary

Canine Companions in Northern CA is seeking a Data Associate for a temporary data hygiene project. You will execute updates from reports and maintain data integrity across donor and organization records.

You will work with Data Services, Finance and IT to ensure accuracy in Salesforce, Accounts, Opportunities, Payments, and Bequest records. Strong Excel and data skills required, with ability to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience with gift entry, batching, coding, reporting in Salesforce
• Collaborating with other departments to ensure proper coding and reconciliation
• Experience maintaining data quality and integrity across systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented with ability to meet deadlines independently
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related data tools

Responsibilities

• Follow the philanthropy playbook to update records in Salesforce
• Update Accounts and Opportunities, including contacts, pledges, and duplicates
• Update Payments with GL codes, fund codes, dates, regions, and stages
• Update Bequest records and organization types
• Make updates directly in Salesforce and via data loader for bulk changes
• Collaborate with Data Services, Finance, and IT

About the Position:

This Data Associate role is a temporary position that will help execute an organization-wide data hygiene project. This includes actioning a series of items from existing, well-defined reports and reviewing and updating records accordingly. This position will play a critical role in updating and maintaining the integrity of our current data, while positioning the organization for greater success in ongoing data hygiene and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Systematically follow the action items in the “Philanthropy Playbook” to complete the necessary updates in each one
• Update Accounts and Opportunities, including contact, soft credits, pledges, duplicate records, and other items as outlined in a Playbook section
• Update Payments, including GL codes, fund codes, payment dates, regions, source batches, and stages
• Update Bequest records, including organization types, coding, and other items
• Action updates and changes directly in Salesforce, following multiple steps with great attention to detail
• Action updates and changes through exported Salesforce reports which are then imported into Data Loader for global updates
• Work closely with members of the Data Services team, Finance, and IT

Required Qualifications

• At least 2 years of direct experience with gift entry, batching, coding, reporting, and data management in Salesforce
• Experience working with other departments to ensure proper coding and reconciliation of dat
• Experience maintaining data quality and data integrity with an understanding of how changes in one system or process may impact others
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines independently
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related data tools
• Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential donor and organizational information
• Reliable internet access and ability to work remotely

Schedule:

Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Compensation:

• California/New York: $18-$20 per hour
• Texas/Florida: $17.50-19.50 per hour
• Ohio: $17-$19 per hour

Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
