Job Summary

This recruitment will be used to fill multiple temporary Cook 2 positions with flexible FTE between 0.60 (approximately 24 hours per week) to 1.0 (40 hours per week) for the Division of Extension and Engagement’s Extension 4-H Youth Development Program. These positions are located at the Oregon 4-H Center in Salem, Oregon.

65% Cooking and Coordination
  • Coordinate meal production
  • Prepare foods per menus and recipes
  • Handle ingredients and cook using various methods
  • Prepare special diets and sack lunches
  • Make desserts and use commercial equipment
5% Requisitioning
  • Maintain supplies, place orders, verify deliveries
5% Record keeping
  • Track food prep, servings, leftovers, and inventory
10% Cleaning Functions
  • Store food, clean equipment and work areas, manage waste
15% Lead Work and Miscellaneous
  • Assign tasks, train staff, monitor temperatures, and handle guest inquiries
What We Require

Two years of institutional or commercial cooking experience or an Associate’s degree in related field.

What You Will Need
  • Valid Food Handler’s card or ability to obtain one within 30 days
  • Commitment to inclusive, respectful environments
