Temporary Community Manager

The Community Manager oversees all operations of a housing community under the supervision of the Regional Manager. Responsibilities include managing personnel, leasing, maintenance, financial, administrative, and risk management functions while ensuring compliance with company policies, safety, and fair housing guidelines.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Personnel Management: screen, hire, train, coach, and develop on‑site staff; monitor performance; provide training and counseling.
  • Attendance: daily onsite presence required.
  • Staff scheduling: prepare weekly/daily office and maintenance schedules.
  • Performance issues: document, communicate with supervisor and HR, and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Leadership: promote staff harmony and quality performance with supportive guidance.
  • Financial Management: achieve maximum net operating income through cost control, revenue enhancement, and budgeting; reconcile deposits, rent collections, and vendor invoices.
  • Strategic Leasing Management: develop marketing plans, manage lease processes, address resident complaints, and implement retention programs.
  • Resident Services: handle resident inquiries, show units, and facilitate move‑ins.
  • Administrative & Maintenance Management: ensure accurate reporting, lead emergency response, manage maintenance turnaround, maintain property appearance, and oversee equipment and supplies.
  • Construction Oversight: direct maintenance and rehabilitation work to ensure quality and timely completion.
Education / Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree or four years’ industry experience preferred, or one‑two years of related experience.
  • Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) or Accredited Resident Manager (ARM) preferred.
  • Proficiency with on‑site software and basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements.
Physical Requirements
  • Regular communication with staff and residents; repetitive wrist/hand motions; ability to work overtime, weekends, and nights as emergencies arise.
  • Frequent standing, sitting, and moving; occasional ladder and stair use; handling objects up to 25 lbs.; operating machinery, vehicles, or golf carts.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures, confined spaces, and hazardous chemicals.
License / Equipment
  • Reliable transportation required for emergency on‑call duties.
Salary Range

$23.50 per hour to $25.50 per hour
