Fortune Society is seeking a Temporary Community Engagement Specialist in Bronx, NY. In this role, you will provide support to participants of the Supervised Release Program, facilitating engagement strategies to help comply with program mandates.
This position requires strong community navigation skills, the ability to work with diverse backgrounds, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. The contract may lead to a permanent position based on performance.

Position Length: Temporary with possibility of becoming permanent
Reports to: Community Engagement Specialist Supervisor
Salary: $27.48 – $30.22 per hour (~$50,000 – $55,000 annually)
Location: 502 East 163rd Street, Bronx, NY 10451 (within all SRP Bronx location)
Days/Hours: Monday‑Friday, 9AM–5PM
Supervised Release offers an alternative to jail by providing pretrial supervision, case management, and voluntary social services to people charged with misdemeanor and non‑violent felony offenses. In this role, the Community Engagement Specialist will engage SRP participants who require additional supports to remain compliant with program mandates. Engagement strategies may include warm hand‑offs, arranging transportation or other services, text messages or phone calls outside mandated check‑ins, and providing coffee/snack purchases to facilitate trust‑building.
