The position runs for about 4 months, with additional bilingual differential pay for Spanish-speaking skills. CMA certification from WA and CPR within 90 days are required, with 720 hours of training and a clinical externship emphasized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from an accredited medical assisting program (CAAHEP or ABHES) with at least 720 hours and 160 clinical externship.
• One year CMA experience preferred.
• CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
• WA State Medical Assistant Certification or Interim Certification required.
• Certifications must be current.
• Spanish-speaking skills preferred at level 10.
• Bilingual differential compensation when ALTA score is 10.
• Strong medical knowledge and people skills.
• Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, Epic and EMR.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient medical records and update history, vitals, treatments, and medications; review immunization records.
• Prepare for patient visits; review files, labs, referrals, and reports; update providers as needed.
• Collaborate with providers to ensure efficiency and continuity of care; prep for daily schedule.
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms; ensure supplies and sterilization.
• Explain procedures to patients and provide limited education or coaching.
• Respond to patient questions in person or by email; direct inquiries outside scope.
• Assist physicians during exams, procedures, and minor surgeries.
• Anticipate providers' needs and support requests.
• Collect and prepare lab specimens; perform screenings; document results in EMR.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed.
