Job Description

Power Station at Berklee NYC is the largest professional recording studio in NewYork City, serving clients in the music, film, theater and television industries. The multi‑room facility offers audio and video recording at the highest professional levels and houses facilities for both commercial studios and Berklee’s educational programs. The Client Services Associate reports to the Director of Operations and supports the day‑to‑day functions of the commercial studio and academic/event spaces.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Open and close the facility.
  • Inventory and stock supplies throughout the facility.
  • Assist in technical set‑ups and breakdowns of commercial recording sessions and both commercial and educational events.
  • Reserve gear for sessions in the equipment management system.
  • Assist on sessions as needed.
  • Attend to all client needs in the facility.
  • Run errands and perform general cleaning tasks such as taking out trash and tidying studios and client spaces.
  • Move equipment as required, including instruments, back‑line gear, microphones, and other audio equipment.
  • Move, set up, and manage video equipment and lighting.
  • Track receipts related to client session expenses.
Experience and Competencies
  • A degree in media, recording or a related field, or commensurate experience.
  • Record‑studio background or experience highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic video systems, lighting or live sound is a huge plus.
  • A learning and growth mindset to advance in competency with experience at Power Station, taking on more complex tasks, roles and projects over time.
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with clients professionally and helpfully.
  • Problem‑solving and decision‑making skills with good judgment and professionalism.
  • Willingness and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary Range

US $20–$24 per hour.
