Job summary

The Department of Bioengineering at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary instructors to teach courses in our department should an opening arise. These are not tenure-track positions - selected candidates will hold the title of Lecturer.

Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies from semester to semester, depending on the needs of the department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent international degree at the time of application.
• Advanced degree or five years teaching and/or industry experience.
• Preferred qualifications: Advanced degree. Also preferred: teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Managing and supporting Graduate Student Instructors.
• Holding office hours, running laboratories and demonstrations.
• Assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials and maintaining a course website.
